She’s Rooted Home Seed Exchange

Do you enjoy gardening and want to connect with others who share your passion? Or are you a beginner gardener who would love to learn from those successfully growing in your zone?

She’s Rooted Home Seed Exchange was created to build a community of growers sharing their passion and knowledge with other aspiring gardeners in their growing zone.

What is a Seed Exchange?

It’s an opportunity to send and receive seeds, as well as other gardening products from other participants in your growing zone.

Partners are matched based on their growing zones.

You will receive two partners. One partner will be sending you your seed exchange package, and you will send the second partner their seed exchange package. We decided to give everyone two partners instead of one, because we believe building community and making new friends makes our hobbies a little more special.

What do we send in a seed exchange package?

Each package should be carefully curated based on your partners answers to the questionnaire. The package must include at least 5 different seed packets, they may come from your own garden or can be seeds you bought, and we ask that you work on a budget of $75, including shipping. This can include other gardening supplies like gloves, tags, pots, aprons and so on.

Our vision

Is simply to cultivate relationships! I would love to see people connect and learn from one another. Sharing their skills with beginner gardeners or making new friends in their area. Likely becoming real life friends! Swapping garden produce, recipes and planning family dinners together.

Who can participate?

Anyone who enjoys gardening or someone who is looking to start their first garden is welcome to sign up! She’s Rooted Home Seed Exchange, Fall 2022 is open to United States residents ONLY.

Sign ups open July 25th
Sign ups close August 1st
Partners matched and emailed August 15th
Last day to ship packages September 5th
First day to report missing package September 19th
Last day to report missing package October 3rd

Sign me up!!

There is a small sign up fee of $25. This ensures that if your partner fails to send your package or the parcel goes missing, we will send you a replacement package. The fee also covers my time spent matching partners. All partners will be hand picked and matched based on their growing zones. The fee also ensures that every participant is fully invested in their Seed Exchange experience.

A Vegetable Seed Starting Guide, FREE!

All participants will also receive my vegetable seed starting guide! This guide is designed to help you succeed in growing a bountiful vegetable garden! Covering seed starting, transplanting and hardening off seedlings. I also discuss soil health, beneficial insects, pest control, when to fertilize and the benefits of mycorrhiza. As well as a complete month by month seed starting schedule for zones 4-10.

Terms & Conditions

I agree to spend my time & money curating a thoughtful package for my Seed Exchange partner.
I understand that I will be receiving 2 partners! One of which I will be sending to & and one I will be receiving from.
I understand that I am responsible for obtaining my partners shipping address! She’s Rooted Home will provide you with your partners filled out form, but will not be sending partners shipping addresses due to the privacy of each participant. Once partner emails have been sent, please reach out to your partner via Instagram or email and introduce yourself.
I understand that I must ship my partners package before or by the deadline.
I understand this round of the Seed Exchange will only be open to the United States.
I understand that I (the participant) will be paying for the shipping cost of my partners package.
I understand I must purchase a tracking number for my “sending to” partners package.
I understand I may only sign up once.
I have an active Instagram account, that I post on regularly.
I understand there’s NO REFUNDS!
I understand that if I have signed up for a previous round of the Seed Exchange & failed to send my partner a package, I am unable to participate in any future exchanges. If you sign up again, you will NOT be issued a refund & will NOT be eligible to participate.
I understand that backing out of the Seed Exchange forfeits my rights to participating in future exchanges & will NOT be issued a refund.
I understand the fee for participating in the Seed Exchange, covers the time & work invested in partner matching, and also insures that I am fully committed in participating in the Seed Exchange.
I understand the guidelines and minimum requirements of what to send my Seed Exchange partner.
I understand the information inputed on the Seed Exchange form is shared with other participants, aka partners.
I understand if my partner fails to send a package or its lost, I must fill out the Missing Package form, within the time frame to notify She’s Rooted Home & receive a replacement package.
